LEBANESE DIASPORA INVESTMENT SURVEY

The Lebanese American Council for Democracy (LACD) is pleased to be the first Lebanese American organization to participate in the Lebanese Diaspora Investment Survey, which is being conducted by Dr. Tjai M. Neilson of the Department of Management and Dr. Liesl Riddle of the Department of International Business at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. This survey is an important element of a multi-year study that examines homeland investment interests among Diaspora communities. The Lebanese American community has been chosen as one of several communities to partake in this study. To access this survey, you can click here or visit our website.

Diasporas are a very important subset of foreign investors. For many developing countries, Diaspora investment represents a significant and necessary source of capital. While there are many examples of Diaspora members investing in the homeland, relatively very little is known about what motivates this investment. The Lebanese Diaspora in the US has distinguished itself as one of the most vibrant and active Diaspora communities in the country. The purpose of this study is to measure which factors are the best predictors of US-based Lebanese Diaspora homeland investment using a series of survey questions.

Nothing of this nature has ever been done, and we find your participation crucial. We encourage you to take this survey because this study might have policy implications for both Lebanon and the US, as well as future investors in Lebanon. For more information on this survey and to participate, please click here.

The survey will be administered through an online web-based version of the same survey. The total amount of time you will spend in connection with this study is no more than 20 minutes.

If results of this research study are reported in journals or at scientific meetings, the people who participated in this study will not be named or identified. Thank you in advance for your participation.
